Pros and cons of French Verb Conjugation Trainer app for iPhone and iPad

French Verb Conjugation Trainer app good for

I used the lite version and was so impressed that I upgraded to the full version. It is easy to use and employs an efficient method of memorization technique.
Ive studied French for years and I think that this is a great app. It allows the user to pick and choose which tense(s) to work on, then keeps track of the progress. It repeats verbs that the user got wrong the first time. It comes close to being a fun way to learn verb conjugations....
Great App. Flashcard method works perfectly for me. The ability to check the conjugation of the verb that is being asked is a great feature. You can choose the tenses you have learned and concentrate on them and it gives a lot of flexibility.
If youre looking for a great way to test yourself on French conjugations, this is the perfect app. I personally love being able to switch between the manual and timed settings and to choose which tenses to practice at any given time. And the pyramid technique of learning suits me well, the repetition is enough to commit words to memory without being annoying. If you want to test this app, try the lite version first. The full app includes a lot more words; I upgraded quickly!
This is a useful app if you dont feel like going through an ultralingua dictionary and copying down all the verb conjugations or imputing them into a flashcard app. Also, I learn faster with the flashcard system than studying a list or book. You can learn and unlearn words so once you know something very well, you dont have to deal with it in your "card pile" anymore. Good for supplementing a French class.
This app is very well designed for its purpose, which is to help a student of French to master verb conjugations. It is not for students who are not at least acquainted with the fundamentals. For all other students - like me - who need an easy, structured way to learn and then master common French verbs in all tenses! There are similar apps to build vocabulary, but nothing like this for verbs. Highly recommended!

Some bad moments

The program does what it says _ provides you with the conjugations for the verbs. But it doesnt provide any definitions for the verbs, or pronunciations, and there is NO audio. Also, it loads veeery slowly. Also, the interface is indeed confusing, not to mention pretty darn ugly. So if you want a glorified reference manual, this is it. If you are trying to learn the language, however, there are much better apps.
Great idea - but no translations? Really? And no audio? And does the visual interface have to look like it was designed by accountants? Take a look at BYKI for a design clue. This could be such a powerful and accessble tool with some work!
Dont buy. You can get all the verb conjugations you would ever want from the ultralingua dictionaries. This is unstable and clunky. Def needs more work.
Love the program. I was using it every day until I upgraded to iPhone 3.0. Now the app crashes as soon as I try to open it. Please update the app so that it will continue to work!
No pronunciation to go along with the instruction. Not worth the 2$. There are many free apps that are much better.
